Obituary for Everett L. Gross

CICERO, IN- Everett L. Gross, 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in his residence following an extended illness.

He was born on March 27, 1943 in Sikeston, Missouri to L. B and Leabell (Donaldson) Cobb. Everett served with the United States Army from 1960 to 1965. For most of his lifetime, Everett has been a commercial truck driver, driving for Anaconda Wire and Cable of Marion and most recently for Diamond Trucking out of Peru. He was a former member of Masonic Lodge #705, Murat Shrine, and the Jonesboro American Legion. He was a member of the Teamsters and the New Day Baptist Church of Alexandria.

Step-Son- Carl Gray-Bowling Green, Kentucky
Step-Grandchildren-Ryan (Cami Jo) Butler, Kelsey Butler, Haley Butler
Brothers-Alvin (Sandy) Gross- Round Top, Texas, Kenny (Shelia) Gross-Frankton,
Carl (Nancy) Gross Jr.- Noblesville
Sisters-Grace Savage-Alexandria, Diana (Tim) Jones-Anderson
Several nieces and nephews

Everett was preceded in death by his parents and his wife-Shirley Gross in 2015.

Services honoring Everett’s life and legacy will take place at 11 am on Saturday, October 20, 2018
In the New Day Baptist Church, 202 West Tyler Street, Alexandria with Rev. Harrison Williams and Pastor Chris Hubler officiating. Military honors will be accorded following the service by the United States Army and Elwood VFW #5782 Honors Team. Following cremation, private family interment services will take place in the Grant Memorial Park Cemetery at Marion, Indiana. Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday or after 10 am on Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to New Day Baptist Church or the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital through the funeral home.
