Obituary for Robert E. Alford

GENEVA, IN- Robert E. Alford, 69, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Hospice Home in Fort Wayne following an extended illness.

He was born on February 13, 1949 and had lived in the Madison County area most of his lifetime. Robert was a professional truck driver most of his life and had driven for Harvestland Co-Op and Donahue Gas. More recently, he drove for RG Transportation for 23 years. He was a member of the Teamsters. Robert enjoyed NASCAR with Jeff Gordon as his favorite driver. In his earlier days, he raced midget cars at Lapel. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, drinking Diet Coke and his coffee. The time he spent with his family was cherished most by Robert.

He was preceded in death by his mother-Juanita Byram Alford and his step-mother-Lillian Patterson,
his wife of 28 years-Sandy (Koons) Alford in 1999

Services honoring Robert’s life and legacy will take place at 1 pm on Saturday, September 1, 2018 in the Noffze Funeral Home, 501 North Harrison Street, Alexandria. Pastor Nathan Lutterman will officiate. Interment will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville. Friends may call at the Noffze Funeral Home from 5 pm to 8 pm on Friday.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
