Obituary for Madeena F. "Deenie" Ashby

ALEXANDRIA, IN- Madeena F. “Deenie” Ashby, 88, passed away on January 1, 2018, at Community Hospital in Anderson following an extended illness.

She was born on October 14, 1929 in Elwood to Lawrence and Edith (Fullen) Walker and was a graduate of Elwood High School-Class of 1948. Deenie worked at Danner’s formerly of Alexandria for 17 years retiring in 1983. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making crafts.

Survivors:
Daughter- Pam (Larry) Staton-Kimmel, IN,
2 Sons Mike (Linda) Ice-Alexandria, Randy (Cherie) Ice in Colorado,
Step-daughters-Victoria (John) Gilbert, Cindy (Kevin) Jackson, and a step-son-Mike (Diane) Ashby all of Chesterfield
Several Grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren
Several Step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren
Several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband-William “Lit” Ashby-December 12, 2017, a son-David Ashby, a granddaughter-Shelly Rene` Ashby, 7 siblings

Services honoring Deenie’s life and legacy will take place at 1 pm on Friday, January 5, 2017 in the Noffze Funeral Home, 501 North Harrison Street, Alexandria. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday.
