FAIRMOUNT, IN- Anthony R. “Tony” Hendrick, 61, passed away on Friday, March, 23, 2018 following an extended illness.

Tony was born on April 9, 1956 in Anderson to JC and Carol (Vetor) Hendrick and has lived in the Summitville-Fairmount area most of his lifetime. He was a graduate of Frankton High School-Class of 1974. He served as the Chief of the Summitville Police Department for 25 years. Tony also drove a school bus for the Madison-Grant School Corporation for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, working with guns, riding motorcycles, CB and Ham radios and running in garden tractor pulls. Tony was a big man with a big heart and a big smile. He will be warmly remembered.

He was preceded in death by his mother-Carol Hendrick, Son-in-law-Jake Key, Grandson-Jarrod Morrison, Granddaughter-Marysa Morrison, Father-in-law-David Smith

At Tony’s request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will take place at the Fairmount Shelter House in Playacres Park, 300 East Madison Street, Fairmount, IN 46928 on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm. The family suggests that any law enforcement and related personnel who would like to pay their respects do so at 3 pm.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses. A donation by credit card can be made by viewing Tony’s obituary and service arrangements at and pushing the button “Donate Now.” Envelopes will be available at the gathering time on Thursday.
